Virtual TCS New York City Marathon

Race the five boroughs virtually! Take on the Virtual TCS New York City Marathon Powered by Strava anywhere, anytime between October 25 and November 2.

The window to apply to the drawing will be from June 12, 2025 to June 18, 2025, and the drawing will take place on June 25, 2025. Selected applicants will be notified via email.

Registration for the Guaranteed Entry tier is not open to runners registered for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon.

If you are selected in the drawing, your default credit card will immediately be charged the full registration fee. Your card must have an expiration date of July 2025 or later.

Runners who are selected for the Virtual TCS New York City Marathon (Guaranteed Entry) and complete their virtual race will gain guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. Finishers will also be shipped a Virtual TCS New York City Marathon finisher medal and keychain. Registrants will gain access to a 60-day Strava subscription.

All runners can register for the Finisher Medal or the Love of Running tier.

Funds raised by Team for Kids members support NYRR youth and community programs. This includes Rising New York Road Runners, NYRR’s youth program and events platform. Through school-based programs, youth events, and a collection of digital resources, Rising New York Road Runners brings free running and fitness programs to students across the country.

You can choose to run a marathon in a single day or over the course of the week, it’s up to you as long your miles equal 26.2!

Runners who register for the Virtual TCS New York City Marathon Challenge (Finisher Medal) and complete their virtual race will be shipped a Virtual TCS New York City Marathon finisher medal and keychain. Registrants will gain access to a 60-day Strava subscription.

Join the NYRR Virtual Racing Facebook group for daily inspiration from the virtual racing community year-round. Get racing tips and support from both beginners and experienced runners from around the world.

Runners must complete the full 26.2-mile distance in a single run activity during one calendar day and upload the activity to Strava. Please note: Your activity must be a GPS upload. Manual uploads, treadmill runs, and activities where friends have “tagged” you are not supported and will not be counted toward your result.
