Join us to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month in Queens at the NYRR Mindful 5K on Saturday, May 2.
This community-focused run invites participants of all ages and abilities to come together for a shared experience that supports mental well-being, connection, and self-care—recognizing that progress looks different for everyone, and every step counts.
The NYRR Mindful 5K reflects New York Road Runners’ vision to build healthier lives and stronger communities through the transformative power of running. Exercise is a natural mood-enhancer and stress reliever, boosting endorphins and self-esteem, and can reduce the risk of major depression by up to 26 percent with just 15 minutes of running or walking a day.
Register for the race and join us throughout Mental Health Awareness Month by exploring free in-person events, virtual challenges, and digital resources available on the NYRR’s Mental Well-Being resource page.
This event welcomes everyone to celebrate the wellness benefits of running and movement in a supportive, inclusive environment. Set in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the course offers a calm and energizing backdrop—encouraging participants to move at their own pace and focus on how each step makes them feel.
On race day, be sure to stop by the NYRR Zen Zone. This serene space offers opportunities for meditation and mindfulness. Registered participants are invited to visit the Zen Zone before the race to mentally prepare through live sessions and self-guided audio recordings.
The Member-Only Standby List for the NYRR Mindful 5K is full. If you already submitted your name to the Member-Only Standby List for this event, you could be selected from the standby list and sent a non-complimentary invitation code up to 48 hours before the event date.
Active NYRR Members can read about the Member-Only Standby List here.

All event information is subject to change.
