Medical Volunteer Orientation -

This medical volunteer opportunity requires a separate orientation, prior to the event in order to volunteer on race day. The IN-PERSON orientation session for this event will take place weekend of October 17-18, 2026. We will have multiple sessions available to choose from. Orientation registration will be available to approved medical volunteers in early 2026.

This event is +1 eligible for the 2026 9+1 Program to earn entry into the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon. We are currently accepting applications to join our medical volunteer team for the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1, 2026. Medical Volunteers will help support our runners throughout the 26.2 mile course, start and finish line. We are truly grateful for your support! Medical Volunteer Application & Registration Process

Submitting an application, is not a guarantee of placement on our medical volunteer team. To complete your application, we ask that you  upload all required documents on your NYRR account under required documents.

All medical applications, including supporting documents must be completed within 14 days of application date. Licenses and certification must be valid through the event date of November 1, 2026. 

All opportunities are first come, first served. Registration closes on September 30, 2026 or when the opportunity is full, whichever is sooner.

In-person Medical Volunteer Orientation Requirement

This medical volunteer opportunity requires a separate orientation, prior to the event to volunteer. The IN PERSON orientation for this event is the weekend of October 17-18, 2026. We will have multiple sessions available. Approved medical volunteers for the TCS New York City Marathon will receive an invitation to register for those sessions in early 2026. 

Student Medical Volunteer Opportunity

Medical Students are welcome to join our medical team in a supportive, observational role. There are a limited number of opportunities for medical students. Students will not practice directly but will instead provide charting support as needed.

Group Medical Volunteering

Group Volunteering is welcome as part of our Group Entry Program, and can earn non-complimentary entries to the 2027 marathon. Group participants however, are not guaranteed to be placed together.
