More About the Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run 4M
Race Details

Run with pride and show solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community at the 45th running of the Front Runners New York LGBTQ+ Pride Run® 4M. This year's theme, "Miles of Belonging Together," celebrates the unity we share through movement, reminding us that pride is strongest when we lift each other up.

Since its inaugural race in Central Park in 1982, the Pride Run has stood as a landmark moment—launching a powerful, enduring partnership among Front Runners New York, New York Road Runners, and the City of New York.

Today, the race continues to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride and the ongoing movement toward equality, diversity, and inclusion for all. In 2019, the event made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest pride charity run, with more than 10,200 finishers.

About Front Runners New York and Donation Beneficiary

Front Runners New York is New York City’s premier LGBTQIA+ running and multisport club. Founded in 1979, the club has grown to over 1,200 members, representing one of the largest LGBTQIA+ athletic clubs in the world. Each year, Front Runners New York makes a donation to a nonprofit organization serving LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers—the 2026 beneficiary is Housing Works. Since 1990, Housing Works has provided a comprehensive array of services to more than 30,000 homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Member-Only Standby List

The Member-Only Standby List is a perk for NYRR members who are willing to participate in an NYRR race if entries become available after registration has closed. These individuals will be invited to register for the race on a first-come, first-served basis.

Active NYRR members can read about the Member-Only Standby List here.

Housing Works also operates multiple temporary shelter properties with hundreds of beds and linkage to long-term care. Advocacy Housing Works' grassroots advocacy helps local efforts to secure funding for healthcare and housing assistance and national and international efforts to end AIDS. Recent victories include the restoration of HIV funding originally cut in the New York City FY25 budget and taking legal action to protect a SUNY student suspended based on harmful HIV stigmatization.
