Race Details

To register for races, you must create or claim your new NYRR account  to avoid delays.


Young runners will run in Central Park, near the very course where Grete made history – winning five NYRR New York Mini 10K titles, setting road race world records in 1979 and 1980, and running the final miles of her record-breaking nine New York City Marathon victories. Beyond her achievements, Grete was the founding chair of the NYRR Foundation, now known as NYRR Community Impact, inspiring future generations of runners.


Registration for this event is FREE and open to participants ages 2 to 11 of all abilities. Every finisher will receive a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability.

Pre-Race

Stage 1: Participants should report to the staging area (starts separated by age group) 10 minutes before the start of their run. Please note that Stage 1 dashes will start on a rolling schedule; refer to the estimated start times listed below.

We’ve updated our website to increase inclusivity and representation in our races. Parents/guardians can register youth runners as girl, boy, or non-binary. Visit our FAQ page for more information on how to update your profile.

Race numbers may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) in advance of the event. Check back in for the dates and times available.


Parents and guardians of runners are encouraged to pick up race numbers at the NYRR RUNCENTER to avoid race-day lines.


Stage 1: On race day, race number pickup will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Race-Day Central, located at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park.


If you plan to pick up a runner's race number on race day, please arrive at least 60 minutes before the start of their run.

Race Day

There is no bag check. NYRR is not responsible for bags left unattended.

Stage 1: Check back in for the event map. Participants will run short dashes of various distances. See the Schedule of Events section for the estimated distances each age group will run.


We strongly recommend checking mta.info before you travel. You can also message the MTA on WhatsApp.

Finishers will receive a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability.


Souvenirs will only be distributed on race day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Race-Day Central, located at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. A youth race number must be presented to collect the event souvenir.

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, parents/guardians of participants will be informed as soon as possible. Events will not be rescheduled.
