Give the young athletes in your life a chance to join in on the race-day fun in Coney Island at the Boardwalk Kids Run at the RBC Brooklyn Half!
Kids will love experiencing the magic of being a part of one of the largest half marathons in the U.S.
Registration is FREE and open to participants ages 2-18 of all abilities. Participants will receive a New Balance hat (while supplies last) and finishers will receive a medal.

The RBC Brooklyn Half Expo Presented by New Balance is excited to welcome runners to its new home at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in the heart of Prospect Park, close to the B, Q, and S subway lines.
Numbers may be picked up at the RBC Brooklyn Half Expo Presented by New Balance in advance of the event on the following dates:
- Wednesday, May 13: 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, May 14: 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Friday, May 15: 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Number distribution ends 30 minutes before closing.
Parents/guardians of runners are encouraged to pick up race numbers in advance to avoid event-day lines. Absolutely no numbers will be distributed at the NYRR RUNCENTER.
On event day, number pickup will be available on Sea Breeze Ave. Pickup times are:
- Stage 3: 6:30 a.m.–8:00 a.m.
- Stage 2: 7:30 a.m.–9:10 a.m.
- Stage 1: 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
If you plan to pick up a runner's race number on event day, please arrive at least 60 minutes before the start of their run.
Stage 1: Participants should report to the staging area (starts separated by age group) 10 minutes before the start of their run. Stage 1 dashes will begin on a rolling schedule; see the estimated start times below.
Stages 2 & 3: Participants should report to their assigned corral 15 minutes before the start of their run.

Stage 1: Participants will run short dashes of varying distances. See the Schedule of Events section for estimated distances by age group.
Stages 2 & 3: Participants will run one mile on an out-and-back course that starts and finishes on Ocean Parkway, just north of Brighton Beach Avenue. Runners will begin by heading north, reach the turnaround point, and continue south back toward the finish line.
We strongly recommend checking mta.info before you travel. You can also message the MTA using the chat feature on the MTA app.
Bag check will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sea Breeze Ave.
While we will continue to have clear plastic bags available at registration, we encourage you to use your own clear reusable plastic bag, no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep. Only clear bags may be checked at bag check; we are unable to check opaque bags of any size.
NYRR is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bags or items from bags checked at NYRR bag check.
Participants will receive a New Balance hat. Souvenirs are subject to availability and will only be distributed on event day from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sea Breeze Ave. A youth race number is required to collect the souvenir.
After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org. Awards will be presented on race day to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Stage 3 finishers in the girl, boy, and nonbinary categories. Awards will only be distributed at the race finish.

Pedestrian Crossing
Pedestrians may cross Ocean Parkway at Brighton Avenue or Sea Breeze Avenue.
If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, parents/guardians will be informed as soon as possible. Events will not be rescheduled.
