Rising NYRR at the NYRR Retro 4-Miler - Stage 1
Kids can join in on the fun as we show off our favorite old-school running gear and take a run down memory lane!
Please be aware that the Rising NYRR at the NYRR Retro 4-Miler - Stage 1 will take place during Passover. If you have any questions regarding your registration please reach out to our Runner Services team.
This throwback-themed event happens in the perfect spot—Central Park—where countless iconic moments in running history have occurred, including the first New York City Marathon, the Crazylegs Mini Marathon (now the Mastercard New York Mini 10K), and more. Kids will be excited to join the fun along with other runners getting into the retro-running spirit as they sport their favorite decade!
Registration for this event is FREE and open to participants ages 2 to 11 of all abilities that are new to running and physical activity, for non-competitive short dashes. Every finisher will receive a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability.

Race numbers may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) on the following dates:

Parents and guardians of runners are encouraged to pick up race numbers at the NYRR RUNCENTER to avoid race-day lines.
On race day, number pickup will be available from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Race-Day Central, located at the Naumburg Bandshell.
Souvenirs will only be distributed on race day.
We’ve updated our website to increase inclusivity and representation in our races. Parents/guardians can register youth runners as girl, boy, or non-binary. Visit our FAQ page for more information on how to update your profile.
Stage 1 participants should report to the staging area (starts separated by age group) 15 minutes before the start of their run. Please note that Stage 1 dashes start on a rolling schedule; refer to the estimated start times listed below.

Stage 1 participants will run short dashes of various distances. See the Schedule of Events section for the estimated distances each age group will run.
We strongly recommend checking mta.info before you travel. You can also message the MTA on WhatsApp.
There is no bag check. NYRR is not responsible for bags left unattended.

Souvenirs will only be distributed on race day from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the orange Rising New York Road Runners souvenir tent at Race-Day Central, located at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. A youth race number must be presented to collect the event souvenir.
If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, parents/guardians will be informed as soon as possible. Events will not be rescheduled.
